So, I'm sure there are more then a few folks trying to farm the raptor cave outside Rata Sum (4 districts worth + me of course), but I'm surprised that it takes a long time to map into Rata or leave out of it. Anyone else experiencing this?

I haven't been on in a couple hours but it might just be the servers lagging and not that area in particular. Tends to happen during events.

With the steady stream of people coming and going in Rata Sum, the increased lag isn't unexpected. Then again, Rata Sum has always been a bit laggy for me.

The lag was getting that bad for me last night i switched to NM because the HM runs were just too tricky. Didn't really bother me cause i'm only going for the party items anyway and they drop just as well in NM. The lag was a bit strange though. Sometimes i had the orange/red dot but most of the time it was green, even though quick freezes still happened.

That's mass event farming for ya i s'pose.

I've been farming Rata Sum for a while now, and haven't had any lag at all. Have been green all day there with an occasional rubberband.

i leave from international and have no slow loading... try that.

well try this for fun...

at about 1:56am I was in arachinis dungeon, just about to go and kill the boss...I was cleaning out space in my bags...and went to get the dumb torch---laggggggggggg...dc'd...back in...try to pick up torch.....lagggggg....dc'd get back in....did this 4 times....last one I got the level loading screen and about 10 minutes later then error 19 we cant find you mission try again later.....so back to the log in screen....cant log in either.....after another 5 minutes finally get back in.....and the last few things I did--iding and droping stuff werent there....and now I have to go and redo that dang dungeon.

What happened??????

Looks like your client wasn't communicating with the server correctly, and essentially, it rolled back to the most recent data that your client sent. Sorry to hear that, but it happens sometimes.

yeah....and now my ele is brooding about it...guess I will do it again later (cant be arsed to do it again tonight...).

Event item farming takes its toll. I lagged so bad last event whenever I visited Rata Sum that my effective framerate was like 1 fps.

Rata Sum is hit harder than most towns partly because it's the best farm spot, partly because it uses the most complex graphics of any GW town. The combined effect is murder on slow systems (like the legacy crap I'm presently using).
